 Another Friday , another skincare product review.This week, I'm gonna review my all time favorite face mask which is "The Derma co 2% Salicylic Acid Clay Face Mask".

This is my go to facemask if I want to deep clean my skin once in a week or if I have to attend an event or if I'm facing any breakouts.Just because this is my favorite mask doesn't mean it is perfect for everyone.So,check out the entire post to know more about this product.



Key Ingredients:

This mask is free from sulfates, fragrance, dyes and Mineral oils.

The main ingredients of this mask are Kaoil clay, charcoal and salicylic acid.

  • 2% Salicylic Acid
    Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic agent that exfoliates skin cells to slough off more readily. It’s a BHA that targets enlarged pores, acne, & blackheads.
  • Kaolin Clay
    It has cleansing properties that remove dirt and impurities from pores. It is gentle and exfoliates without stripping off the skin’s natural oils.
  • Activated Charcoal
    It effectively cleanses the skin, controls oiliness, and unclogs pores by removing impurities and dead skin cells.

Below are the full ingredients:

Aqua, Kaolin, Bentonite, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, Pentylene Glycol, and 4-T-Butylcyclohexanol, Ethoxydiglycol, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Aloe vera Extract, Methyl Propanediol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Propylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Polyurethane 35, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Glyceryl Monostearate, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Salicylic Acid, Charcoal, Chamomile Extract, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-di-t-butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Titanium Dioxide, Xanthan Gum, Sodium PCA, Disodium EDTA, EthylhexylGlycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hydroxide.


All the ingredients are safe to use on the skin and dermatologically tested, you may refer to Paula's choice ingridents dictionary to know in depth about each and every ingredient.

Hero ingredient is Salicylic acid which helps control sebum production by going deep into your skin pores and eventually control acne.

Pro's:

1.Deep clean the pores as it a BHA(salicylic acid) based clay mask.
2.Helps control acne effectively by controlling the sebum production.
3.Gently exfoliate the skin.
4.Brighten the skin(Not whiten guys, I'm not the one who encourages such whitening products).
5.Fragrance free.

Con's:

Honestly, there are no cons for me because this has been working like a magic on my skin.

My skin type is oily and clay masks are boon for oily skin folks. Even dry skin people will love it because it is not too drying like multani mitti.

However, if you are sensitive skin person and have never used chemical exfoliation(check out my post on chemical exfoliation here) before then you might face irritation.

Ofcourse do the patch test before using any product. Just because this product has worked me , it will not work for everyone. As I always say, skincare is subjective, be mindful and do a patch test before using any new product.

How to Use?

Do not use this more than once a week

  • Step 1

    Wash your face with The Derma Co. AHA BHA Foaming Face Wash

  • Step 2

    Dab your face dry and apply a generous amount of face mask

  • Step 3

    Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water
