Cleansing your face is the most important step in your skincare routine. Hence, we have to choose a cleanser which does the job of cleaning the face by removing all the impurities yet do not strip the natural moisture from our skin.Today, I'll review a cleanser which is simple yet effective and this is every dermatologists favorite cleanser which is none other than cetaphil gentle cleanser.

If you are someone who has been following me since the beginning , you will know how much I love this cleanser and how many times I've recommended it in m posts. Also, Cetaphil recently improved their formula and launched a new version of it which is even better than the previous one.So, without any further ado, let's jump right into the topic and see what this product offers, pros and cons.




Breakdown of the ingredients


One thing I absolutely love about Cetaphil brand is how minimal their ingredients are and just like all other Cetaphil products , gentle cleanser also have very minimal ingredients. Well, even though the list is small, they are effective and really does the job.


Ingredient list: Aqua , Glycerin , Cetearyl Alcohol , Panthenol , Niacinamide , Pantolactone , Xanthan Gum , Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate , Sodium Benzoate , Citric Acid


As you can see the list is very less but there are some amazing ingredients like Niacinamide, panthenol which is a great humectant that can help preserve the skin's moisture and Glycerin.

All the ingredients used in this cleansers are completely safe , effective and non irritants, you can check the paula's choice ingredients dictionary to know more about each and every ingredient in detail.



Pro's & Con's:

Every product will have certain pro's and con's, so does the cetaphil gentle cleanser but the pro's will take the lead here and makes the con looks like a tiny ant which will not do any harm.

Now, let's get into the Juicy part and see the pro's and con's of the product.

Pro's:

  • The cleanser is very gentle on your skin and helps in repairing the skin barrier.
  • Unlike most of the cleansers, you will feel that your skin is very moisturized after washing your face with this cleanser as it will not strip your skin's natural moisture.
  • No nasty chemicals added , no actives , fragrance free simple cleanser.
  • Dermatologist favorite cleanser. If you are some one who seek help from dermatologists , you would have probably heard your doctor recommending Cetaphil gentle cleanser.
  • Safe for all skin types included sensitive and inflamed skin.
  • Budget friendly and easily available in India.
  • Leave your skin baby soft after cleansing.
Con's:

I seriously couldn't think of any con as I never had any issue with this cleanser and I've been using this since 4 years at this points. 

However, most of the people like their cleansers to lather a lot because all the skincare marketing stunts made us believe that if our cleanser is lathering well, it is cleaning our skin well but that is such a myth. So, if you are someone who likes your cleansers to lather, you might not like this one because this will not lather and gives you that foam effect. Remember, just because a cleanser is not lathering doesn't mean that is not cleaning your skin.

Again, this is not a serious con to be honest but for some people it could be.

Final verdict


Cetaphil gentle cleanser is a mild cleanser with no nasty chemicals and fragrance free which can be used by all skin types but hey, don't forget to do the patch test before adding this gem into your skincare routine.
